The Elephant in the Church

You cannot really be a Christian when you vilify the poor

for indeed Christ was their champion, so need I really say more?

So if it’s power that you seek and/or wealth that you adore

then it’s the words of your savior that you’ve chosen to ignore.

Jesus healed the sick for FREE and said to “love thy neighbors”,

showed hospitality to strangers and evicted money changers.

Just know that God is not mocked and that his son is far from feeble.

But best of luck to you and yours with your camel and this needle —

For if Jesus taught us anything that should be clearly understood:

Being a Christian requires more than to simply call yourself good.

I wrote this poem because I tire of watching so many “Christians” in America these days break their hypocrisy meters….
